N~Leaders plan
Proverbs 16:3 (NASB95) — 3 Commit your works to the Lord And your plans will be established.
N~Leaders plan.
T. Boone Pickens, the Texas billionaire, recalls a story when he was in college where his father said,
“Listen son, a fool with a plan can beat a genius with no plan. And your mother and I have a concern that we have a fool with no plan. So you’re getting ready to get a plan and get out of school and that’s it.”
What is a plan?
An intention or decision about what one is going to do.
There are many people in life who wander aimlessly from time to time and place to place. It seems like a carefree Shaggy and Scooby life until we realize we were made for more than simply sliding through time.
Planning is the deliberate act of deciding on a course of action and then executing. Notice the two parts.
Deliberate — A focused intention to make a change, fulfill a resolution, start a new habit, or stop a bad one.
Execute — This is where the rubber of faith meets the road of life. Tony Dungy former NFL coach says, “No excuses. No explanation. You don’t win on emotion. You win on execution.” Proverbs 11:14, Proverbs 15:22, and Proverbs 24:6 all talk about planning and taking counsel from others. That’s a great start, but the next step, execution, is crucial. Without execution, deliberate talk is just posturing for social points or self-debasing to avoid change.
N~leaders plan. They are deliberate and execute their plan.
