Demand more from yourself than you do of others
“Demand more from yourself than you do others.”
That was the quote from my running app this morning that struck me. I have sat in meetings with leaders who actually told me to do less and focus on only my area. Personally, there was something about seeing work not done that just got under my skin in a way that made me just go do it. Why I used to get in trouble for doing more than I was asked. And, I was getting my work done.
N~leaders are like that. There is a little something in an N~leader that says they demand more from themselves than they do of others. In fact, it is probably one of the most noticed qualities that an N~leader would actual rather go unnoticed. There is a real tinge of humility, not the false stuff that panders for attention, that a real leader feels when they see what needs to be done, complete the work, and then instead of receiving affirmation stores their treasure where it really matters, Matthew 6:19-21. N~leaders don’t do the work for the accolades. They do it because it needs to get done.
