Remain vigilant

The recent attacks in Sri Lanka during Easter weekend should give us some pause. While a large portion of the world celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a few terrorists committed horrendous acts upon Christian worshippers, read not Easter worshippers, while they peacefully congregated together. The terribleness of so many people dying because one religion, Islam/Muslim, dehumanizes another, Christianity, should give us pause.

We in the US live in a relatively safe country.

Most of us don’t have to think about our safety sitting in worship, yet if we are not vigilant to keep at least a fragile peace we may become complacent.

Complacency gives rise to one of the enemy’s greatest tools, blinding others to his existence and destructive work; 2 Corinthians 4:4. Evil often creeps in when otherwise good men and women stand by do nothing.

N~leaders know that evil is alive and if given enough room will reek havoc. Curran’s line from a speech in Dublin, Ireland in 1790:

“The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance.”

N~leaders know the price of being in the lead is to remain vigilant.
